About
There is a reticence among people of faith to think about or to talk about money.
Although money plays an important role in our lives, we don’t talk about it in polite conversation. Pastors hate preaching about it. Many times we hold back until we have relationships of extreme trust and intimacy until we talk about financial details. We do good poorly many times. Maybe we have great intentions, but we don’t do it well. Or through malice—or neglect—we are actually furthering evil in our world.
This is an incredibly important topic.
When we look at the Gospels, Jesus talks a lot about a person’s connection with their resources.
In fact, Jesus talks more about money and possessions than any other topic in the Gospels, save the Kingdom of Heaven.
We hope to foster a new conversation.
When we come together, we can talk from our diverse perspectives about who God is, who we can be as a people of God, and how we can use our resources generously and with joy to bring about God’s kingdom here on this earth.
